The need for skilled trades people has never been greater in British Columbia. That’s why, as the region’s leading provider of certified trades and apprenticeship training, NIC works closely with local employers to ensure that graduates’ skills are industry-approved and in line with current demand.

With hands-on training in realistic shop settings, the opportunity for work practicums and the ability to earn apprenticeship credit towards certification, NIC trades and technology students are prized by employers. Demand for skilled trades people is so intense that many students receive job offers or start their own business even before graduation. An estimated 400,000 jobs will become available in BC trades and technology industries in the next 10 years. And because of their respected credentials, NIC graduates are fully prepared to fill those vacancies.

When students come out of the NIC Aircraft Structures course,
they are well prepared to start work and don’t require a lot of
guidance or assistance. I have hired three students to date and yes,
I would hire more.
